1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small values a website stores through your browser. Local storage is a related browser feature that can retain a preference without sending it with every web request. Some technologies are essential for security or a service you request; others, such as analytics or advertising tags, may require consent.
2. Our current inventory
| Name | Technology | Purpose | Typical duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
csrftoken | First-party cookie | Protects forms and authenticated requests against cross-site request forgery. | Up to 1 year | Strictly necessary |
sessionid | First-party cookie | Connects a signed-in browser to its server-side session. | Up to 2 weeks by default | Strictly necessary |
worldscontact_cookie_choice | Local storage | Remembers the cookie-notice choice so the banner does not repeatedly appear. | Until browser storage is cleared | Preference |
3. What is not currently installed
The current codebase does not install optional web analytics, heatmap, advertising, retargeting or social-media tracking cookies. Choosing “Allow optional cookies” records the preference but does not activate tracking because no optional tracker is configured.
4. Consent and essential storage
Strictly necessary cookies are used to provide secure sign-in, prevent forged form submissions and deliver features you request. Where applicable law requires consent for a future non-essential technology, it must remain disabled until the user gives a clear affirmative choice. Merely continuing to browse will not be treated as consent.
5. Managing your choices
You can delete or block cookies and local storage in browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in and secure form submission. To reopen the WorldsContact notice, use the button below.
6. Future changes
Before optional technologies are introduced, this inventory and the consent controls must be updated with provider, purpose, duration and recipient details. We will not describe an optional technology as essential merely because it is useful to us.
